bestBytes is a New Media inspired art show at the Penny Gallery in downtown Lethbridge. It showcases artworks from three distinct categories: Static, Moving Image and interactive design. Each piece is created digitally and displays the artist’s unique style. The show focused on pieces from all over southern Alberta, featuring artwork from many different age groups and backgrounds.
When my team and I developed a new branding for bestBytes we wanted to incorporate a digital aesthetic into the looks of the brand while also incorporating multiple pieces, or ‘bytes’. We wanted the artwork for every brand asset to be unique and colourful while separating the two promotional campaigns that the marketing team was involved with. Our result was a geometric, puzzle-like logo, and two separate colour palettes. Pairing these visual cues with bold typographical choices, the branding stood out, catching the attention of both the public and private sectors.
